A Story About Finding Treasure

Hi, friends! Let‘s talk about a new book for kids. It is called “The Road from Nowhere.” A man named Avi wrote it. He writes lots of books!

This story happened a long, long time ago. It happened in the year 1893. That was even before your grandparents’ grandparents were born!

The story is about a boy named Ollie. He lives in a small town in the mountains. The town is a special place where people look for silver in the ground. Silver is a shiny, valuable metal. People used it to make coins and pretty things.

Ollie dreams of finding silver. He wants to help his family. But a mean man named Mr. Gatchett runs the town. He says all the silver belongs to him.

Ollie and his friends look and look for silver. They cannot find any. They feel sad.

Then, they meet a nice man named Mr. Blake. He is very good at finding silver. He teaches the children how to “read” the rocks to look for clues. The friends feel happy and hopeful again! But they have to be very brave and careful.

The story is full of adventure and tough choices. The author, Avi, says he makes up his stories as he writes them. He writes them again and again to make them exciting for us. This book is about friendship, bravery, and never giving up on your dreams.
